La SATEF began its activity in 1946 quarrying and manufacturing sands and clays for the steel and iron foundries market, in association with DE RIGHETTI & FILÉ, Milan, a trade company operating in this field since the 1924. The activities of SATEF were further extended to cover the whole range of foundry auxiliaries, due to the partnership with HÜTTENES ALBERTUS in Düsseldorf, one of the biggest world wide group for binders and chemical additives for foundries, and its sister company CHEMEX, specialized in metals treatments.
